Day 182 (Travel Day)

Well, as usual, we packed a lot into 4 days, but that’s what you do when you’re not going to see your loved ones for a while. Always the gracious hosts, Ken and Bertie made sure that we didn’t leave for SoCal without a cup of coffee and a delicious egg, bacon and hashbrown breakfast. It decided to rain during the night and again this morning, so we’re hoping it won’t be too bad on our long drive to Del Mar.

After 7 hours of driving and not a whole lot of sleep lately, we arrived at Hannah and Devin’s around 7:30 p.m. So amazing to get those hugs once again, and to hold our adorable grandson, Carson.

You have to soak up every minute you can when they’re this young since it seems they grow at the speed of light at this age. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see Easton since he was with his dad. We’ll have to catch him next time. But Devin made sure to show us a picture of Easton after decorating the felt tree we gave him as an early Christmas gift.

So glad he loves it! Hannah whipped up a delicious taco dinner while we caught up on our travel stories and talked about their plans with their move to Illinois this January. Lots of changes are coming with the hope that 2021 will be an amazing year.

So sad 😢that our visit had to be so short, as we head out tomorrow morning to Riverside to pick up our repaired trailer and then head to Tucson. It’s been amazing seeing our closest friends and family.
