Day 20
Happy Birthday America! And what challenges it, and the world has faced this year with the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. We will get through this together. Unfortunately, I blew it, not having any patriotic flags up or anything red, white, or blue to wear in my wardrobe. But I did make an All-American breakfast of eggs, bacon and cinnamon rolls.
More Amazon ordering today (it’s like Christmas here with all of the packages that are steadily coming in). We want to take advantage of shipping right now, since Hannah and Devin are close by for deliveries before we exit the state. We discovered our 12’ coaxial cable that we had ordered , will not cut it. So 25’ it is.
While Jeff headed out to purchase a few things at Home Depot, one of which was a new bbq, I did some cleanup, finished my journal writing, and showered before the kids headed over. When Jeff returned, no luck with finding a bbq after going to 5 stores. Gee, do you think shopping for a bbq on the 4th of July would pose a problem. Neither of us thought of it. The stores were completely cleaned out. The plan was to bbq shish kabobs for the Holiday dinner, so on to plan B. No skewering, but cast iron cooking of the veggies and meat.
The kids arrived with Carson (Jacob has Easton for the 4th this year). I got a few horderves prepared before we launched into Cornhole.
We’ve been playing toward a championship match, but today was a little different because we were playing exactly to 21, with no allowance of going over.
Definitely makes the game last longer. So much fun, hanging out at our site. We had a pool reservation for 4:00, but decided to nix that idea, and just keep the fun going at our site. The dinner turned out fabulous. We could hear fireworks and a few firecrackers in the distance and how often do you have a full moon on the 4th of July? It’s actually a full moon on the 4th and 5th, with a faint eclipse. Looking forward to tomorrow, where we’ll be with Carson all day, while Hannah and Devin have a day into the night date…...finally!
