Grateful For the Ordinary

Day 489
I hesitate to write about days like this for fear of boring you guys; days that are full of the ordinary stuff. Whether you live in a “sticks and bricks' ' or a “pad on wheels”, we choose to enjoy even the mundane tasks of everyday life, not just the new and exciting adventures. Let’s face it, our “to-do” lists aren’t going anywhere, so let’s find joy in it all shall we? Whatever it is, cultivating a heart of gratitude, even for the small things, is so important to us.
As many of you know, Jeff and I are project people, do-it yourselfers. We cringe at the thought of hiring anyone to do anything for us, even if we don’t know what we’re doing. But we’ve always had the attitude of “we’ll figure it out”, and celebrated the occasions when we do. Don’t get me wrong. There are times we’ve had to throw in the towel and raise the white flag. But most of the time, we’ve been able to do things on our own. But a new task has presented itself…...the shower. Let’s hope we can conquer this next challenge.
A few weeks ago, we had some water along the hallway wall, just outside the bathroom, right after taking showers. It happened maybe two days in a row, then it stopped. And it hasn’t been seen since. We’re stumped. While I went into Middlebury to do a few returns and ship off a few birthday gifts, Jeff stayed back to troubleshoot our latest issue. There is an access panel from the hallway to the pipes under the shower. There was a tiny bit of water in there where any sign of moisture is quickly wicked up with our mold concerns. He has 2 theories:
It could be the weight of us standing on the shower pan putting weight on a malfunctioning valve or
It could be simply leaking from the drain area which looks caulked, but maybe not.
So stay tuned. He also managed to wash the entire trailer, and waxed the front, which is always the hardest section of the trailer to take care of with all the road grime and bugs. Nice that we’re at a campground that allows you to do these kinds of tasks. And it’s something we wanted to get done before winter.
Yes, it wasn’t an exciting adventure day, but we enjoyed the day nonetheless. Hopefully you celebrate YOUR regular days just as much as the exceptional ones. 🙏 ❤️
